The Flexliner Trains
Through 6 years of exiting challenges I acquired experience in marketing, sales, feasibility studies, development, specification, design, supply management, production, test, commissioning, warranty and service.
My responsibilities:
- System engineer responsible for implementing the outside entrance door system for the IC3 trains for Israel. Supplier Tebel in the Nederland.
- System engineer responsible for implementing the braking system (Knorr Bremse Germany) and manufacturing the bogies in Denmark. Bogie design responsible was Talbot in Aachen Germany.
- Project manager responsible for redesigning 10 IC3 train sets designed for service in Denmark and Germany. The project - totalling DKK 20 mill. - included: ATC system, entrance doors, bogies and HVAC in the drivers cabin
- Product (mechanically) system responsible for all IC3 train sets produced by ABB Scandia.
- Coordinating and negotiating the cases between ABB’s costumers in Denmark, Sweden and Israel with suppliers located in Austria, Germany, Holland, England and Denmark.
- In particular we achieved to finalize the trains for the Danish State Railway according to contract and thereby getting the trains out of warranty. Initially the punch list addressed 200 issues when we established the product department
- Out stationed in Spain for a five month period in connection with an order for the Spanish railway company Renfe. I had the responsibility of assessing potential Spanish suppliers together with a team within the Spanish sister company. 80 % of the contract value (DKK 320 mill.) had to be sourced in Spain. We successfully won the order.
- System Manager for Interior systems and reference to the management in Berlin and Denmark I was responsible for developing interior concepts for all trains based on best practices within the Adtranz concern. 3 design centres were established (Berlin, London and Randers/Denmark) enforced with 7 multi functional and multi cultural teams. All the interior systems were sourced outside of Adtranz.
